Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has revealed he’s still waiting for prospective Reds recruit Maxi Rodriguez to negotiate exit terms with Atletico Madrid.
It’s believed the two clubs have settled on a £1.5 million transfer fee for the Argentine, however a deal is yet to be finalised due to problems between the player and the Spanish capital outfit.
But despite the slight delay, Benitez did confirm that a deal is imminent and is nearing completion.
“The deal was almost done, but then there was a problem between the player and Atletico Madrid,” Benitez said, as quoted in Sportinglife.
“So he is still, at the moment, their player,” he said.
“Rodriguez is an experienced player, a good international and he scores goals.”
